In the orchestral passages of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto, some of which are strongly dominating and formative, Kevin Griffiths proved himself to be experienced at shaping the piece, carefully controlling the dynamics of the accompanying passages.
Griffiths was able to deploy all his abilities in Beethoven’s Eighth Symphony. One of this conductor’s outstanding qualities is that he knows how to develop the vital functions of rhythmic concision and melodic flow, to a certain extent as the vertical and horizontal movement of the music. This is also expressed in his gestures.
Conductor Kevin Griffiths has his people firmly under control.
